Fitzroy Facey, Publicist and Promotions

Many peers dub Fitzroy Facey as a true “soul survivor” with over three decades of DJ, remixing, production, compiling, songwriting, journalism, radio, and media presenting experience.

Mr. Facey carved himself a niche working with live acts. It began at the Mean Fiddler’s Jazz Café in 1991, where Mr. Facey supported an eclectic "who's who" list of world famous musicians from 1970’s to the 2000's including, but not limited to: Gil Scott HeronRoy Ayers, Bobby ByrdRose RoyceThe CrusadersThe Sugar Hill Gang, Omar,IncognitoCarleen AndersonCourtney PineErykah BaduJill ScottSounds Of BlacknessDe La Soul, Naughty By Nature, Raphael SaadiqFloetryGerald LevertAngie Stone, Dwele, and Pete Rock.

Mr. Facey's talents have spread across many sectors of the entertainment and media industries including the 2000 MOBO Awards After Party, and hosting several guest radio shows on specialist SolarKiss FMGLR, and Choice FM. His musical contribution was credited in the 1998 BBC1 'Tribute to Muhammad Ali' documentary, and he also spoke as an authority in BBC 2’s 1991 “Dance EnergyJames Brown special.

Mr. Facey has remixed various recordings, some appearing on numerous compilation albums. Some of his noteworthy mix releases include the 1997 Hubbub Record’s 'Cream Of Rare Groove' box set and two Twice As Nice compilations; with one becoming a 2002 gold selling album for the Warner Brothers label. He has also been credited on occasion in books documenting the history of black music.

In 2006, Mr. Facey co-founded the bi-monthly printed magazine “The Soul Survivors”, which is available worldwide as a download App. Aligning with his passion for music, the publication's mission is to bridge the gap between the past, present, and future of black music and entertainment; and to raise awareness about the evolving industry. With his unique and unorthodox approach, Mr. Facey continues to deliver informative and in-depth interviews with many of the top celebrities including:Smokey Robinson, Jocelyn BrownLeroy BurgessJean CarnJeffery Daniel (Shalimar), Chaka KhanEddie Levert (O Jay’s), Ronald Khalis Bell (Kool & The Gang), Frankie Beverly (Maze), Brand New HeaviesJohn LegendLarry Blackmon (Cameo), Wayne Henderson (Crusaders), Tom MoultonLouie VegaJosh MilanNile Rodgers (Chic), Steve Arrington (Slave), and Larry Graham (Sly & The Family Stone).

In addition to his recent work in media and publishing, Mr. Facey has been a DJ at theIndigo2 for Teena Marie,Cameo, UB40’s lead vocalist,Ali Cambell,Angie Stone, and Steve Arrington; as well as writing the artist and DJ profiles for Southport weekender’s official magazine program and DJ-ing at various established weekenders like Southport,Blackpool Luxury Soul, and Prestatyn. He is frequently requested for regular performances abroad at soul holidays in Portugal, Ibiza, and Barbados; and over the years headhunted to DJ at various countries such as Ayia Napa, Switzerland, Dubai, and Greece. Fitzroy has done numerous voice overs for radio and music adverts (in particular he was asked by Motown legend Leon Ware to voice over Leon’s EPK) and has been hired for many high-profile corporate events from film premier after parties and fashion shows, to tours and festive season gatherings at very plush, upscale venues.

In November of 2013, Mr. Facey managed, selected, compiled, wrote the sleeve notes and co designed the main artwork for Expansion’s 'The Sounds Of Universal Love'CD. In addition, in the autumn of 2014, he was featured on the Sky OHTV's program 'Culture Vulture' to discuss the importance of six musicians and six singers for their Black History features on two episodes. This lead to Mr. Facey being invited to speak as a panelist on a Q&A session after the Brixton Ritzy cinema private screening of the James Brown biopic 'Get On Up'.

Mr. Facey is currently the host of syndicated radio shows on various stations. He also has weekly shows on Sound Fusion Radio, the eclectic 'Musicology'show (Tuesdays 6-8pm),  'The 21st Century Intergalactic Black 2 Da Future Show' (playing post millennium music Saturdays 6-8pm), and a new monthly 'Fair Trade 4 Music'chart show monthly (Sunday’s 5-7pm).
